Campaign Photography is a range of pictures/images which some have been photo-shopped. They usually tell a message about a certain campaign or issue such as domestic violence, drink driving, self harm and many more.
This picture shows that cyber bullying can lead to suicide and self harm, as the bullets have abusive words on them. Some people arent as stable in the head and might have suicidal thoughts. I like this picture because it has a small depth of field and the focul point is on the barrel of the gun. The writing goes up and down to show how peoples emotions go up and down.
- Nearly 43% of kids have been bullied online. 1 in 4 has had it happen more than once.
- 70% of students report seeing frequent bullying online. Filling up your friends' Facebook feeds with positive posts instead of negative ones can boost school-wide morale. Start a Facebook page for students to submit positive acts they see in school to promote a culture of positivity on and offline.
- Over 80% of teens use a cell phone regularly, making it the most common medium for cyber bullying.
- 68% of teens agree that cyber bullying is a serious problem.
- 81% of young people think bullying online is easier to get away with than bullying in person.
- 90% of teens who have seen social-media bullying say they have ignored it. 84% have seen others tell cyber bullies to stop.
- Only 1 in 10 victims will inform a parent or trusted adult of their abuse.
- Girls are about twice as likely as boys to be victims and perpetrators of cyber bullying.
- About 58% of kids admit someone has said mean or hurtful things to them online. More than 4 out 10 say it has happened more than once.
- Bullying victims are 2 to 9 times more likely to consider committing suicide.
- About 75% of students admit they have visited a website bashing another student.
Effects of cyber bullying;
The 14-year-old girl is feared to have leapt to her death from a sixth floor apartment block after cyberbullies on ask fm told her: “kill yourself. You’re a dog.” |

Hidden identity
Every body has two sides to them. A person might look innocent and good but on there other side they might be a criminal. Then another person might look like a murderer but is actually a good person. The position of the arms and the head are in a triangle and the focus point is on the manipulated person. The contrasting tone is on the person as this draws your attention to the face. this was probably done in a studio as you have better control over lighting and the background colours.
Drink driving
I have chosen this picture because its a strong picture and it has two campaigns: Drinking and driving and stop violence. It has a high impact punch with the spit coming out of the mans mouth which has been captured with a fast shutter speed. Also has two cars drawn on the fist and face which represents drink driving and the impact it has. The photographer has used a black background and dark t -shirts and specifically highlighted the area of the impact and writing stand out more. The photographer must have used a studio to create this photograph and used a spot light to highlight the face. The text could have been added using Photoshop or similar programmes.
My plan
My plan is to have someone fighting with car keys hanging out there pocket and an empty wine bottle in their hand, incorporating the anti drink driving campaign. I will take my photographs outside in the car park next to a car.I'm going to put only the fight in focus but the car will be out of focus in the background. I will do this by using a medium depth of field.
First shoot
Best
I like this picture because it is zoomed in on the person and the car whilst the rest of the background is out of focus. My aim was to create an anti drink driving campaign. In this picture the person is getting into car while drinking from an alcohol bottle. I have also used the rule of thirds, capturing the man in the middle column.
Worst
I don't like this picture because it is over exposed and the background is clearly visible. This picture is also out of focus.
I have edited the picture so that the back ground is dark but the boy is in a spotlight. I have done this so he stands out and is the main focus of the picture. I have made him the focus of the shoot but I think i need to make him a bit lighter.
Second shoot
My plan is to recreate a car crash. This campaign is about anti drink driving. I am going to put a car crash inside the vodka bottle. I am going to do this on photoshop.
First i am going to take a picture of the vodka bottle in lots of different angles.
Then i am going to photoshop a car crash inside of it.

This was meant to show that you shouldn't drink whilst driving because you might probably cause an accident and injure yourself or someone else. This links to my research as I have combined the two pictures at the start into one on this shoot.
Shoot 3
My third shoot is about showing a person with cars in his hands. This represents a relative/friend dying in a car crash.
This scene represents a car crash. There are two cars tipped over in the persons hands. This represents that the person probably lost someone to drink driving. The quote "How much will your next round cost you" means how much would your next drink cost you basically saying it could cost you your life. The red and blue text represent police lights.
Shoot 4
My plan is to take a picture of a person looking through a window covered in rain. The shoot is meant to show that the person is feeling depressed/sad. I didn't end up finishing this shoot and I think I need a retake of it.
Best
This is my best picture because it is in focus and there is a big depth of field. There is the right amount of expoure.
Worst
This is my worst picture because it is blurred and the lighting isnt good. It is blurry and the focul point is in the wrong place.
My plan
My plan is to try recreate a scene where someone has been beaten up. I will take a picture of someone and then photoshop them making it look like they have bruises and cuts.
I have used Photoshop to change the font to black and white. I have left the cut and bruise in colour on purpose to show contrast.
I like these pictures because they are all have the right depth of field and are eye catching. They use the right exposure, white balance. Non of these pictures are taken from a worms eye view or a birds eye view. After being developed in Photoshop they are more appealing.
Evaluation
I found this project difficult to come up with ideas, however, after using the research from photographers it became easier. I have been able to develop my techniques on the camera such as depth of field. Furthermore the use of photoshop and logos have developed my pictures further. This links to my research as I have applied these skills to the drink driving theme.
